All you poor saps who acquaint with me personally know that I am a HUGE Cold War Kids fan and the announcement of a new song, a new album, and a new tour is a trifecta of awesome that I wasn’t sure my heart could handle. I’ve been fortunate to see these guys live three times and that number is about to be four in May #ALLOFTHESHOWS…whoops, this isn’t Twitter or Insta. The last time I saw them live was on their small West Coast club tour in February 2012 at the Doug Fir and it had to be the most memorable of the bunch; a huge band, my favorite venue, and a bunch of super fans in the audience because the tour sold out crazy fast. I was in music heaven. Also, I was about five feet away from the lead singer, Nathan Willet, who is a confusingly appealing mixture of Woody Harrelson, KOL‘s Caleb Followill, and that brooding young man with the colorful tattoos slanging coffee at your local hangout. Yeah, I know that guy and he’s destroying the barista scene.

The CWK details:

New Album – Their fourth studio album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, will be released on April 2nd through Downtown Records.

Tour Dates – Check ’em out here! Wait And Scene will be at the Crystal on May 18th because yadda yadda all of the shows yadda yadda. And last but not least…

New Song –

I’d be alright if I could just see you

Oh miracle mile, where does it lead to?

Come up for air! x 100

Happy best month of the year, allegiant readers of Wait And Scene! It’s been a while but I haven’t forgotten about you; in fact, I thought of you often…not to be creepy or anything *shifty eyes* Thank you for checking back on my site despite an utter lack of new content. I apologize for my absence in the world of blogging but I can’t say I regret it. I’ve been on a somewhat reckless live-music bender for the last couple weeks that has left me little time for anything. Eating? Sleeping? Showering? What are these daily activities you speak of? I’m joking mom and dad! (Totally not joking, I’m a mess). As I mentioned in my introduction on WAS, I try to live the life of a rock star with a full-time career. I’m at the height of my dysfunction but I couldn’t be happier.

I’ve decided to make a playlist of songs to explain what I’ve been up to since we last “spoke”. Live music for daaaaaays! Here is a list of my fav songs from SOME of the bands that I’ve been lucky to see live in the past two weeks:

1) THE SHINS at the Crystal Ballroom.

2) PURE BATHING CULTURE at the Crystal Ballroom.
