You’re telling me that I promised you a ten song playlist every single week!?  “OOPS, DID I DO THAT?“, said in my best high-pitched, nasally Urkle voice. That’s a tall order, but a promise is a promise so Wait And Scene will deliver.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any CHEESE (obscure Family Matters reference), but I do have ten of the illest tracks from around the world!

1) Ryan Hemsworth Remix of Mikky Ekko- Pull Me Down

When the song Pull Me Down by Nashville singer-songwriter Mikky Ekko came out a month ago, I will couldn’t stop listening. His voice! Those lyrics! Produced by the ever amazing Clams Casino! It was all too much. Today we got a remix of this beautiful song by 21-year-old Canadian producer, Ryan Hemsworth. As he often does when he remixes, Hemsworth somehow manages to make this song even more special. I’m dying over here…

2) Brandon Fletcher – North Hollywood

Brandon Fletcher is a name that you probably don’t know now but I have a feeling you will pretty soon… This Harlem-based rapper released a dope seven song EP called Braille back in October and he gave us a taste of this song on that EP. This week, the entire new track called North Hollywood was released and it didn’t disappoint. The Pretty Woman intro and Dave Chappelle sample halfway through are killer. This song is about a girl from Miami who’s struggling to live the Hollywood lifestyle. Is it a totally far-fetched story that no one can relate to? Naw, I’m sure you’ve seen this once or a hundred times in the media…one good current example (and the picture that Brandon used as a visual for this single) rhymes with dinsey mohan.  REPEAT.

Are you feeling up to another Wait And Scene playlist? Well, you got it, dude! Here is a list of ten songs that I’ve been listening to lately; I’ve been digging a lot of really chill, often repetitive, and sometimes weird tracks. To quote a guy I met one night at the Doug Fir Lounge, “Most people just don’t understand the next level tunes that you and I listen to.” He was a real gem (read: good-looking idiot) and he liked interesting music. I dedicate this list of “next level” jams to you, brah.

1) ViLLΛGE Edit of Neon Hitch – Gucci Gucci

I’m sure all of you have heard the original rap-version of Gucci Gucci by Kreayshawn. It is terrible and catchy-as-hell, but this version is way more my speed. Neon Hitch is an English singer currently living in London and ViLLΛGE is an electronic producer from Romania; He’s definitely on my very long list of ‘ones to watch‘.

2) Cyril Hahn Remix of Destiny’s Child – Say My Name

90s me, likely rocking feathered bangs, neon snap bracelets, and a Hypercolor tee, is very pleased with Cyril Hahns incredible remix of this Destiny’s Child classic.

Jamie Lidell is an incredible musician, electronic artist, and singer from the UK who currently resides in Nashville, TN. He’s known for layering smooth vocals and sick beats while blurring the lines between genres. His influences are across the board from techno, pop, dubstep, funk, and most importantly, heart-wrenching soul. Earlier this week he gave us a 40-second album teaser vid which was much too short and didn’t tell us all that much. Today, he announced that he’s releasing that new self-titled album on February 18th through Warp Records. With that announcement, Jamie threw us a Clifford-sized bone (the big red dog, people!) by releasing a track called What A Shame. We can chew on this one for a few months or until we beg him for another treat. Press play and embrace the metamorphosis of sound. In the first few seconds, you’ll probably be like, “AHHHHH, my ears!!” and then you’ll be like, “Awwwh yeeeaaah, my ears.”

If you don’t like it,

What a shaaay-aaay-aaaaaame.
